About me
It was decided early, I’d pursue an all natural birth and the best part, keep and encapsulate my Placenta.
Sounds like an undesirable request but when you choose for a medicine free pregnancy and birth, encapsulating your placenta is an easy sell. I initially thought this kind of magic could only be accessed by societies elite. However, to my surprise, the process was easy to organize and affordable. I was very skeptical about the whole process but the more and more I looked into it I was enticed by the benefits it was said to offer.
So, here I was laying on my back with my husband clenching my arm so tight, telling me to get the baby out over and over again. I sensed fear in his voice. Little did I know at this time he had just pushed the emergency button and was staring down at our baby’s head, silent and grey. His heart was in his throat and I instantly regretted all the built up resentment towards him hours earlier. Still holding onto me he kept close to my ear telling me to push and keep going.
2020, what a whirlwind. For many, including myself, it had been emotional and hard to grasp. The Global Pandemic continues to take a toll on the world but Victoria, where I’m located, seems to have it under control for now. However, businesses, families and individuals, are all learning to re-build and operate successfully, with what is being described as “Covid Normal”. A lot are re-building on all levels; mentally, physically, emotionally and even learning to re-build their businesses and relationships. An eight month lock down broke me.
In the winter of August 2018 at 38 weeks, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. The tiniest version of my husband and I finally earthside.
